The GAUSSIAN project is approaching the end of its first year, with many activities underway that will be the focus of the upcoming Progress Meeting. The initial phase has focused on defining technical requirements, highlighting the importance of aligning with existing standards to facilitate the transition of the final prototype to qualification and certification.
Among the main achievements is the development of the first version of the prototype for processing authenticated Galileo signals. This will be used in specific tests to assess the resilience granted by the Galileo OSNMA to GNSS spoofing, following the guidelines outlined in the MOPS document for dual-frequency, multi-constellation satellite-based augmentation system airborne equipment. At the same time, the team is developing the modules needed to process signals from the Galileo HAS. Although transmitted on the E6 band, which is not allocated to the Aeronautical Radio Navigation Service, HAS represents a crucial innovation for high-precision, non-Safety of Life applications.
The year 2025 will be pivotal, with the integrated prototype ready for flight testing.
